You may have noticed there is no comic up right now. Unfortunately, that's probably gonna be the case all week long. I'm severely backlogged on schoolwork and until I get my stuff in order...

It's just, you know, the comic doesn't get me grades and it doesn't pay any bills.

HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY FOR NEWSCAST -OOM!-

I didn't even realize it until I posted the comic, but today marks the one year anniversary. That's pretty cool, especially since I never cared about the one year mark when the comic actually started.

This is cool because that means that...well, it's just cool. A whole year come and gone. How about that?

My new-year resolution is to update more. 11 pages in a year is kinda sad.

Oh well. This page, some things I like about it, some I don't. I never came to terms with the last panel, though I am happy that Sparkey is back once more.

Hi folks,

As you may have surmised, there will be no comic for this week. Now, before you get into angry mob mode, let me just briefly explain.

See, my midterms were last week. I stored them on my iPod when I run between the school and home because it's simpler than carrying around my untrusted portable HDD. Anywho, the other day, the thing just...dies. Not while attached to a computer or transferring data or anything, I'm just listening to a song on it and then, dead.

Since I hadn't backed it up in a few days, I lost chucks of some midterms and in other cases, I lost them completely. So I'll be spending the next few days trying to salvage them and my GPA. If I finish soon, I'll post a mini-comic or something, just to tide everyone over.

In the meanwhile, consider it catchup time for all the days last week that didn't get the comic due to ComicGen being lame.

Hi all,

Well, I did it. I got past the three-comics-then-I-stop-updating-slump. Go back and check, you'll see I'm right.

Not much to say about this page. We finally see how T.B. lives...which is in a small attic that looks like a broom closet. Why? That's just the way he rolls.

Anyway, the page itself, meh. I like it more now that it's colored, but I need to spend some time working on my base art. I'm not thrilled with it, but I suppose if I was working on something that wasn't a lap-desk I could spend more time on the details.

Anyway, sorry about the problems with the site over the weekend, Stuart Packrell is working on getting Taymation Studios ready to be Newscast's mirror site again, just in case.

Also, if anyone knows where I can get a good quality Proton Pack, let me know.

Three weeks in a row?!

Can you STAND it?!

I'm not fond of this page. Not gonna lie. The concept is good but the execution...eh. Not so much. Still, it's done and up and I'm happy about that.

Last night, I did something I haven't done in years. I stayed up all night working on the comic and watching Outlaw Star -one of my favorite shows. It was pretty weird, and would have been fun if I hadn't had class this morning. As it stands, I got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep.

Not really much else to say. I think sitting on the floor is beginning to have adverse effects on my back. I draw while sitting on the floor because my roommates are always sleeping/making out/have crap/ on the couch. So yeah, I'm pretty much stuck in the space between my bed and the closet door. It's cozy but I swear my back is starting to give me real trouble. I'm gonna have to figure out a solution for that.

By the by, that barcode on the door plate really does say 'Studio C'

Two updates...in a row? This must be the end times.

I don't really have much to say tonight. This page is alright. I'm still getting back into the swing of this. Photoshop CS3 makes it much easier than old PS7. I guess that's because I've used it more.

Today has been the roughest in a long time in my ongoing "Stay Positive" campaign. I'm going to make a decided effort to make tomorrow better, no matter what I have to do to do that. I know that everyone has a bad day now and again, but I can't let myself fall back into bad habits. I'm having a hard enough time as it is.

Today was good though. I didn't have school or work so I worked on the comic all day. I also got around to finally watching Stand By Me which I've had in my Netflix que forever. Tommorow: Krull!

It smells and looks like rain outside. It's SUPPOSED to rain. Rain tomorrow would be a Godsend.

Well, that's all the news that's fit to...wait...I've used that one before.

It...almost...killed...me....

It took me 7 months.
It took me 2 apartments.
It took complaining, and it took rewrites, and it took friends, and tears, and vacations, and roommates, and a practical reconstruction of my computer and all knowledge that I thought I already had, and it took a lot more things.

But I updated again.

Suck on THAT!

And what does this mean? Well I don't know. It feels good to update again, and I would like to continue. I plan to continue. But we'll see. I can only do my best.

I wanted to work a variation of one of those lines into the comic up there, but it never sounded right.

So that first panel there. You see it? That little piece of @#&* is what kept me from posting this for so long. I hate that first panel. In fact, there are a great many things about this comic that I dislike. However, since I had to try and remember everything I forgot about my technique, well I guess it came out alright.

I would like to thank Sparky and Tay especially for making this update happen. I would also like to thank Jeremy, my roommate who's addiction to World of Warcraft made the router possible. The fine folks at GameStop #950 (you know who you are) who joined my forum and pester me to update. I would also like to thank my dad and sister for the vacation that finally brought me out of my depression and my mom for tricking me into going.

Sometimes I think this takes too long when I see the results. I don't dislike this page per say, but it shouldn't have taken as long as it did, considering how non-threatening it is artistically.

Hello all,

Those who know me will attest that I do not often praise my own work. In fact, I think it has been some time since I said anything about my own stuff that wasn't disparaging. However, I will say this: I really like this page. The layout, the progression, everything...except one thing. But I'm not going to dwell on it.

Anyway, I still haven't quite gotten my school schedule back to a reasonable spot yet, but hopefully that will happen soon. When it does, hey, we might start seeing more consistant updates. We might anyway. Lord knows I'd like to see that.

Gonna take some time over the next few days and update the site. The forum should be going live this week which will probably mean the end of the tagboard...but we'll see.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Madden is finally out. Thank God. Our store is now 95% less cluttered with Brett Favre, it makes me smile. I have nothing against the man, mind you but I won't shed a tear when he dies in a tragic blimp accident. Madden curse you know.

Last but not least...Soul Calibur 4 is awesome. Still unbalanced as all hell, but fun. One of the best collectors editions I have purchased in some time. Actually, one of the ONLY collectors editions I have purchased. I usually don't waste the money but I like Schoolgirl uniforms.

Hi,

I don't have a lot of time, cause I have already stayed up WAY too late considering I have work in the morning, but I HAD to get this comic up. I didn't want everyone to think I was flaking out again.

Just a couple of quick housekeeping items, I am taking a web design class this semester, so who knows? the page might get decent here in a couple of weeks.

Also, I would like to extend thanks to everyone on the tagboard who offered to hurt certain individuals for me. Just so that everyone is up to date, someone from my school broke into my apartment and stole my Wii and my WACOM tablet. I don't know who, and I know that I won't be getting either back. I'm past it, so lets hear no more about it. I'm trying hard to maintain a positive attitude and it's working so far.

Moving so abruptly left me without internet for a couple days. Before that, I was on vacation. I wanted to have something to put up, but I kinda ran out of time. So sorry. My current housing situation might not be permanent either. Hopefully, this won't cause any interruptions in the comic, but I can't make any promises. For now, we continue on schedule.

Lastly, of course I saw The Dark Night. It was awesome. I still like Nicholsons' Joker better, but I am slightly biased. If you need a reason, it's because I miss the jokes. The gun with the flag, the acid flower, etc. Though I will say that Heath Ledger was AMAZING.

Anyway, enjoy the page. Sorry it took so long.

Better late than never eh? Especially during finals. My animation teacher is out to kill me.

I like this page in some ways. It's a good layout (which I admit, I had a little help with) and it gets a lot done. On the other hand, the drawings aren't up to par with my usual.

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is a lot of fun. Play it on any system you have, cause it's great. On the other hand, Grand Theft Auto 4...has left me very bored.

I might be being interviewed for The WebComic Review this week. Dunno. We'll see. Check it out either way.

Heya folks,

Bet you're surprised that I updated again huh? I guess given my track record, I would be too. Sometimes I shock even myself.

Well, this was a fun page to draw. I wish I had more of the script writt....eh...I mean, I wish that I had...er...so I could have added another panel...or...nevermind. The layout came out alright.

Panel 3 especially. I do enjoy a good look of shock.

I guess there's not really much else to say about this one. I should probably look at some other people's rants and see what they talk about. Be right back.

Aaaannnd I'm back. Okay, it seems like most people don't use them anymore. So...um? Goodbye? Nah, I'll just go on as normal.

So this chapter. Gonna be fun! Nudity? Not gonna be so much after this, and truthfully, I am wondering whether it was such a good idea in the first place, especially considering I finally remembered the original opening page for this chapter. You'll still see it, but later.

Ah whatever. It's MY comic right?

IN OTHER NEWS:

I hate street dates. I hate them. If something is done, shipped, and in the stockroom of my store, I should be allowed to buy it. This also goes for games that I don't want, just so as to not be a hypocrite. In this case: Lego Indiana Jones The Original Adventures. If it's ANYTHING like Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga then I will be a happy Ayame.

Working on a couple other pieces. Nothing big, cause finals have begun. For some reason, this quarter's finals seem worse than usual even though I have fewer classes. Perhaps it's because most of the classes I dislike. Natural Science was fun until the holier-than-thou students began to talk. I enjoy open discussion and differing points of view, but when you talk for 45 minutes, and then when someone has their own opinion you start talking again until they shut up...not cool. 2D animation...I don't want to be an animator. I LOVE 2D animation, but I suck at it. Though I have been pondering a short animation for Newscast based on this. Advanced Photoshop. God, just kill me now. It takes a lot for me not to want to play with Photoshop for 4 hours, but this class has managed to do it. A combination of incomprehensible instructions, the 8 am time slot, and a general lack of time -it being the same day as my animation class- make this practically the worst of the bunch. There's another class, but I like it so I'm not going to mention it.

If anyone has read my Deviant Art blog, then you know my feelings on my art in general at the moment. If you haven't read it, don't. I was in what my kindhearted boss refers to as 'Emo Mode" and therefore it should be ignored.

Updates for OOM coming this week! Look for new links, and content on the Cast page!

I am beginning to work on a side project. It'll probably go straight to Deviant Art, but if it ends up going well then I might load it here or on another account. Maybe at Taymation if it ever goes back up.

I know I said there'd be a quiz, but I haven't been able to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull again yet. So you have one more week to prepare. Don't waste it.

Hey there.

Well, like I promised I've uploaded a new page. Whee! Chapter 3 begins at last, and what a beginning it is. I have to say, from an artistic standpoint I am very happy with this page because I have finally put my life-drawing skills to good use. I don't think it's perverse since it's for the sake of the story, but I guess if you take it that way, it's your perogative.

By the way, someone asked me if I was PG-13 before this. The answer is: "I have no idea." Some websites say I've already had nudity in my comic so I guess not.

Regardless, humor is on the way!

So I hope you guys are enjoying -OOM- so far. Yes, I realize that it's not much besides an excuse to update the look, but I consider it to be kind of like a re-launching for the comic. Kinda like when they transitioned from Sailor Moon to Sailor Moon S, or when they went from Love Hina to Love Hina Again. Consider this that transition, and hey, free archive. You guys have been wanting one for like, ever.

If anyone has any better ideas about the background, email me. I'm all for critisisim, but don't say: "I think you should change your background, but I don't know what you should change it to." Cause that doesn't help. I KNOW I need to change it.

Why are you sitting there NOT watching Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? It's a fun movie! It's the worst of the four, but it could have been so much worse. I'm not going to name any movies specifically - STAR WARS EPISODE 1: THE PHANTOM MENACE, STAR WARS EPISODE 2: ATTACK OF THE CLONES, STAR WARS EPISODE 3: REVENGE OF THE SITH, JURASSIC PARK 3, SPIDER-MAN 3, X-MEN 3, and there are probably others I'm not thinking of- but really, it's a good flick. See it twice. The second time is MUCH better.

I have replaced BioShock and (thanks to a generous co-worker) Mass Effect finally. After replaying BioShock, I've added it to my top 5 favorite games of all time. It never gets old for me. SHAME ON YOU, 2K FOR PUTTING IT ON PS3! YOU AND CAPCOM HAVE NO SCRUPLES! It's not that I MIND it being on PS3, but I hate them acting like disobedient children about it. I mean, they drop hints, then lie, they deny it, then finally it's like "Oh, okay. We were doing this all along." It annoys me.

I want this. BADLY!

I'm out of things to talk about. So I guess I'll be off again until next Saturday. Until then Newscast fans! And by the way...next week, there's a test on Crystal Skull. be prepared.

Greetings Newscastians!

It's summer time finally, and even though the only place I'll be seen anywhere NEAR a swimsuit is on this post, it does make me fell good.

Today marks the end of Chapter 2 at long last. Are we sad? Happy? Mad? Perhaps just gassy? I don't know. I for one am happy. The last panel I think turned out well. I also kinda like the layout. Not my best, but passable.

So what now? I guess only time will tell. If you come back next week will something new be up? Sources say yes. What will it be? I guess you'll have to come back and find out.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Finally got my new DVD burner. I haven't had much time to test it, but I can tell you it looks like ass. I have an eMachine and anyone who has ever seen one knows that they make the case as incompatable with non eMachine hardware as you can imagine. So my DVD burner is now mounted INSET in my machine. I have to reach inside to use it. *sigh* At least it was cheap. And if it works, I could care less.

Been playing Lord of the Rings online a bit lately. kinda fun. I miss CoH. I hope I can afford to play again someday.For those of you wondering, my LoTR account was a gift from someone, so it's not just a matter of paying for CoH instead. 'Sides, I DO like LoTR.

Sometimes, I am proven wrong. NOT OFTEN MIND YOU, but sometimes it happens. One of my friends from Salt Lake actually flew all the way down here just to go see Iron Man with me. Yes, he flies for free, but it was still so nice to finally see a friendly face again. Unfortunately, I lost all self control around him and spent a lot of money. There goes the ol tax return. *shrug* It was still a great day and a much needed reminder that I do still have friends.

Hey there.

I bet you're surprised that I updated eh? Well, me too. I just started working on it and well, after my 463rd try to log into ComicGenesis I was able to gain access and the rest is history.

I like this page. I incorperated some of what I am learning in school and I think the benefit is clear. Of course, it could be just because I dislike the previous page so much. Yeah, I bet that's it.

Otherwise, I suppose the story keeps going. We're almost to the end of Chapter 2 now, which means a new story arc is on the way, and (God willing) it will be even better than this one. Perhaps even...enjoyable.

I am going to attempt to get back Katie Azbill who was so kind as to do the cover art for the first two Newscast books to come back with a third for us. She's rediculously talented, and I can't imagine anyone else doing the covers. So cross your fingers Newscastians (and maybe send her a note telling her how awesome she is).

I also have uploaded another pic this time. I liked the Mass Effect one a lot. Maybe this will become a trend (don't worry, I do them after the comic is done and they take about a minute with my tablet).

As you may have inferred from said pic, I will soon be moving once again. Long story short, Rock Band and the French got me and my roommates evicted from our apartment. All is not lost, however, we are moving to another apartment nearby which is larger. This, however, does impact you because we are moving next Friday and Saturday which means -you guessed it- no update unless I manage to get REALLY lucky. I'll try and get something up though...I have no idea WHAT, but I'll see what I can manage.

Of course, all this hinges on the fact that my roommates WANT me to move with them, which is something I have been unable to clarify thusfar. Stay tuned.

IN OTHER NEWS:

My game playing is pretty much done until Smash Bros Brawl comes out. I will be posting my friend code on here and I encourage anyone who is getting the game to send their friend code to me so we can play head-to-head. Which reminds me, if you have Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii, send me your friend code also.

Hey all.

So I know what you're thinkin. "Oh my God...Newscast has updated." Yes, I know. Go ahead and end the hunger strike now.

Before I go any further, please accept my apologies for the possible suckiness of the colors on today's installment. I dunno what my monitor is doing right now, aside from telling me that I'm not seeing what I think I am seeing. And instead of the long process of installing new drivers, I figured I'd update and hope for the best.

Assuming of course that the color IS correct and it just looks funky to me, then all I can say is that I hate this page. Maybe because it's been taunting me for damn near three months now, but it could also be that it just plain sucks. Ah, but you can't win em all.

Otherwise, it's good to have updated again.

Not really a lot else to talk about. There's a new Newscast poster in the works which should soon make it's appearance on the Gallery page. School and work continue to blow varying degrees of chunk and...I'm desperately lonely now that I've beaten Mass Effect.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Did you know that Las Vegas has absolutely NO running water that is fit for human consumption? I mean, outside the strip that is.

I'm very tired, but if you want to know more about what's going on, I think my Deviant Art blog is somewhat up to date.

IN OTHER NEWS:

School is trying very hard to kill me. I'm up to 4 major projects a week, 5 including the comic which I am quickly becoming serious about again. As soon as it's done, I'll upload a picture of my Kioko sculpture.

My Birthday was pretty lame. Thanks very much to everyone on the Tagboard who extended good Birthday wishes. They all cheered me up quite a bit. Got a few good presents, mom got me "I Am America (And So Can You)" by Stephen Colbert. Now that I have read it, I am obligated to tell you to buy a copy through The Colbert Nation.

They also provided me with cake and a nice dinner. A few of my friends from back home got me Beautiful Katamari for the 360 which then proceeded to die again. Fortunately I was able to enjoy most of the game first.

As I predicted however, some of my friends who shall remain nameless didn't even bother to call me. Ordinarily, I wouldn't let that bother me, but now that I am 400 miles from my friends, that sort of thing is important to me. Oh well, I suppose I know where I stand with them.

Lone sent me some awesome fan art which is about to go up in the Fan Art section.

Hey folks.

I felt I had to say something, as Saturday, Sunday, and Monday went without a new update.

I don't like it when the comic doesn't update. I probably dislike it more than anyone else. Really. I'm not going to make any excuses, and even if I did the comic STILL didn't get up. All I can say is this. I'm currently working very hard to make Newscast as good as it can be. Every comic is an experiment, tinkering with the look of the characters, shading, backgrounds, layouts...it's a trial cause I'm still not that great at it. One of the reasons I went back to school -besides trying to make myself a better artist was to break this bad procrastination/laziness habit which has hindered me for years. So please bear with me, together, we'll get through this.

On a side note, I'm not fishing for sympathy here, just trying to establish some context.

The comic will be done by tommorow evening. I can say this assuredly since it's already being colored and I have class Wednesday. It WILL be up Saturday. And if I may say so, it's a good one.

Ayame here, welcoming you back to Newscast with an update. The comic, okay. Turned out well, lots of last-second rewrites and all. Still, I think its alright. The BG in panel 4 is one of my favorite to date. I might be getting the hang of this comic thing.

IN RELATED NEWS:

So, as many of you are already aware, I have moved again. That's right, my greatness was TOO much for Salt Lake City, so I have broken my earthly bounds and moved to....Las Vegas. Why? Well, it wasn't my first choice, believe me, but there's a good school here and I am ready to move on with my life. I was sick of working for minimum wage at GameCrazy -don't get me wrong, I miss the store, and my co-workers, but lets be honest here...I couldn't let myself end up there forever. I'm an artist. And no ammount of my own mediocrity will dissuade me.

So I'm living in an apartment with 3 guys...kinda good, kinda not-so-good. They're all pretty cool, share many of my intrests, and leave me alone when I want to be all quiet and moody, but on the other hand...I AM LIVING WITH THREE STRANGE MEN. Bathing, dressing, etc are awkward for me, and many doors are locked during these exercises.

Also, something smells like rotten fruit.

Once again I find myself utterly alone. I don't make friends very easily, and I am fairly certain that my classmates are trying to avoid being near me. I wouldn't have thought so, but I find myself with a 6-person buffer zone in all my classes...Oh well. More time to merge with my DS and Phantom Hourglass.

Also, I finally broke down and bought Halo (the FIRST one) the other day. I'm going to see if it's really as "OH MY GOD IT'S THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME IT'S SO ORIGINAL AND SUCH A GREAT STORY AND SO UNIQUE AND SO PERFECT OMFG LOL ROXXOR!!!!11one11!1" as everyone says it is. My money is on 'no' because I'm not an idiot.

Still waiting for my Xbox 360 to come back to me.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Supposing I have some time next week, I am taking down the Newscast Store. I am doing this because first of all, it's presumptuous to have merch for a comic that is read by MAYBE 16 people. Secondly, the stuff that I was offering was good-quality screen printed stuff, not those cheap iron-ons. I have one of the first 'Gotta Fly' shirts. I wear it often, and I have washed it LOTS. It's still in great shape...anywho, the company that used to make them for me realized that they shouldn't have been doing my stuff at such insanely low prices, and as a result, they began charging an arm and a leg.

So yeah, sadness.

I'm also trying to fix the images on the RP page, in case any of you have been keeping up with it. There's also some general site maintenence I've been meaning to do, and if I get my homework down enough in advance, it might just happen.

So yeah, sorry for the long post, but it's been a hectic time. Enjoy the comic and I'll see YOU on Saturday. Well, I mean, I technically won't, but if you come back here you'll find a new comic which was the implication of that statement and...look, just....yeah.

Hey all.

Well, after a long absence I am back. But for how long? Hopefully for a good, long while. Not too much to touch on with this comic, except the punchline. I hope it makes sense, I mean...it does to me, but then again I talk to myself a lot.

So AnimeBanzai has come and gone for another year. I didn't even get to go because my store hosts some of the gaming tournaments there, and I was the one who got stuck watching the fort while the others (including the new meat) got to go enjoy themselves at the tourney. They claim it was hard, but I bet it was better than what I was doing. On a positive note, they reused some of my badge designs from last year, so I got to run another ad. Hopefully it pays off, if not, they still used my work.

I bet you're wondering where I was that whole time when I didn't update. Well, the story is this:
Firstly, Endzone kicked my butt. Doing 9 comic pages in two weeks nearly killed me. Afterwords, I hit a bit of trouble where panel one was concerned. I knew what I wanted to show, but not the best way to show it (my struggle there lasted until two days ago, actually). Between that, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out, and well, obviously I was needed there. Went to a midnight launch that blew, except for the book-getting part. Finished the book _twice_ before most people I knew who were working on it finished it once. /bragging. Then, came BioShock. Game of the Year material, BioShock has a story that will not let you go, assuming you take the time to piece it together. Yes, that game dominated my life before it even came out. Every snippet of news was like finding an oasis in the Gobi, and truthfully, I was glad to get it, just so I could finally get it behind me.

Am I a slacker? Yes. But with my move less than a month away, my job winding to a close, The Real Ghostbusters Season 2 on my hard drive, and a renewed sense of purpose, I bring Newscast back to life once again.

Yes, it's James Bond day. The sexiest, suavviest, martini-drinkinist day of them all. And if you DON'T get in a high-speed chase through a the streets of Munich in an old Soviet tank today, then obviously you are a terrible person. I've already been through two today, AND a helicopter explosion.

Onto the comic, well believe it or not, AutoKeen worked today, after a fashon. The comic went up MOMENTS after I posted it on my deviant page. Oh well. At least it's up SOMEWHERE.

For those of you not in the know, Nienna has found her way -or found her way long ago, if you're following the timeline- into The Endzone Tournament hosted by this fellow. Basically, Nienna is gonna be blasting her way through opponents towards a goal only vaugely understood by me, but she likes fighting so I'm not going to stop her.

I bring this up because the comic has had a severe shortage of her lately, and for those of you who want a little more Nienna in your lives, you can see her in full action. Also, it would be great to have the support cause as a 'Wild Card' entry, I feel a little out-of-place.

IN OTHER NEWS:

PS3's dropping in price? Looks like it. Most retail stores confirm PS3's dropping to $500. And I don't really know how to feel about it. Obviously, I think the PS3 has coolness potential, but I want Sony to stew in their own juices just a LITTLE longer. Just to get revenge for all the BS they've put us through the last four years.

Sometimes...just SOMETIMES when I say I am going to do something I acually pull my head out of my butt and do it. This is one of those times. It would have been done this morning, but like I said, I got called in to work for a surprise 10-hour shift and since I get paid for that and not for this...

So enjoy. Comic on Saturday -though, I hesitate to use the phrase 'as usual' at this point.

NEWS IN A MINUTE:

#1. The 8 Movies to Die For series is totally awesome. I saw my first one last night and I am checking out the others tommorow.

#2. Games drought is FINALLY over. Floodgates are open for all systems. The Darkness, Pokemon Battle Revolution, The Bigs, Transformers and more are all now in stores and soon my game, BioShock. SQUEEEEE!

#3. I am aware that most of the games I listed are lame, but regardless, they DID all come out on the same day. Tommorow sees even MORE games. How exciting!

Hey folks.

Well, the comic is done and all uploaded but unfortunately, ComicGen won't let me access the admin part of my page so I can't manually update it. You'll just have to wait till AutoKeen kicks in I guess. I'll keep trying until work at any rate.

News? Not much. There might be a guest comic next week cause I'll be out of town starting Wednesday. I'll probably get the comic up cause it's already written, but I am nothing if not a total procrastinator.

Aside from that there's really not much to report. However, I'd check out The Smash Bros. Dojo if I were you cause there's some cool tidbitz about a certain upcoming Wii game which should kick a Metric TON of ass.

P.S. Hope you've enjoyed the fight scene, cause it's almost over. Do you realize that if you'd read this in a book it would've been only a few pages. It just SEEMS like it's gone on forever.

Hello everyone.

Well, I did it. It almost killed me but as of 11:59 the comic is officially uploaded. As to when it actually hits the site...well, that's out of my hands but it should be up soon enough. Anyway not a lot to say about this one, other than I hate the layout but it's kind of nessescary for the news reports so until I figure out something I like better, these are here to stay. They do have a somewhat unique charm to them.

By the by, I'm changing the update schedule to just Saturdays for now. I know, I know, it sucks. But until I can really jump back into a routine, I feel it's the right way to go. So stay tuned for more consistency!

Pirates of the Caribbean : At Worlds End came out the other day. Caught a 8:00 show on the 24th with my sister who dressed up for the show. I helped her make her costume which I am gonna post here if she'll let me...where was I? Oh yes. The movie was AWESOME! I still like the first one best, but it was worth seeing and I'll be seeing it as much as possible.

Hello once again,

No comic today. I just didn't have time to get one together what with all the nothing I have been accused of doing lately.

Incidentally, I am working on two new desktop backgrounds that might soon be avaliable. I was thinking of making them incentive for voting on TWC or something, but I honestly don't think that 7 votes would change the ranking much, not to mention that...hey! I just got an idea. he he he he he.

IN REAL NEWS:

I am preparing to close the Newscast Store perhaps indefinately. There are several reasons; the primary being that the place that used to do my screen-printing has apparently come into new management: Satan himself. Ergo, the rock-bottom prices I was paying before have now almost quadrupled. The remaining stock that I currently posess can still be purchased if you want it, but when those are gone that's all she wrote.

So yeah, that's about it. Comic on Tuesday if all goes well, Wednesday if not. But it's already pretty much ready to be drawn so keep your ocular receptors glued to your computer monitors cause slowly, but surely I am getting the story moving again.

P.S. For those of you wondering; no. I am neither going to be charging for the bg's or asking for donations (which I guess is technically the same thing, but I don't want to create any undo confusion).

Pokemon goes well, even though I haven't had much time to play it. Seems like the only thing I am good for is reseting my game so everyone else can have all the starters then when I want them, they're all like: "Sorry, but I don't have time to do that right now."

Yeah, it took a bit longer than I had anticipated but it's done. Now I'm off to work on Saturday's installment, I mean...not right this second...but soon. Hope you guys are liking the comic. I still like it, but....

News...um...not much really. As you have probably already noticed, I updated the Fan Art page and would like to extend an apology to one G.L. Gillen author of SQUID NINJA. Why? Because he gave me this awesome fan art awhile back (when I hit #100) and I have only just added it to the page. I would also like to extend a special thank-you to Stuart Packrell who has given me the most awesome guest-comic that I have as of yet been unable to run.

As a note: I love to get guest comics and feel a deep regret that I am unable to use them all. I know I haven't updated much historically, but I feel if I only add filler then I won't even TRY to update on my own. However, I'm thinking of adding a special page to the fan-art section where you can just see them all at once.

Oh yeah, and the forums are down. Not that anyone here really uses it. But it'll hopefully be back up soon.

Two other items of note: I was going to post photos of my room and the bar that was finished being rennovated recently, but Photobucket has apparently been taken over by a conglomorate or something cause now my pics are taking forever to load. You'll have to wait until Saturday...for the bar pictures. This, however, is my room.

Lastly...I did something I promised myself I'd never do again. I bought a Pokemon game. Pokemon Pearl for the Nintendo DS specifically. So far, I'm really enjoying it, but I'm not sure how much into the breeding and stuff I'll get. All I can say is that if I can port my Mew on over to it, it'll be worth it.

Heya folks.

There's no update for today for two reasons. The first is that I spent the weekend being a ZOMBIE in a TV pilot: "The Rising". That took up quite a bit of time...like a full day which otherwise would have been spent in the pursuit of comic nirvana. Please keep checking up on this show cause if it gets picked up, that would be like totally awesome.

The other reason is that I updated again...in a big way. Not only did I get a new comic up, there is a new picture in the gallery (which I love VERY MUCH) that the wallpaper gift is based off of. I wanted everyone to see that I had updated before I get rolling again.

Also, I'm updating the CAST page, the LINKS page, and the FAN ART page. Those should be done by this weekend with the possible exception of the LINKS page which I am not sure about changing yet. Also, for those of you wondering, the Wii specific page has been put on hold for now because for some reason it's been interfering with normal updates. Also, thanks to the Wii's new and improved browser, it's not really a necessity anymore.

Hey folks.

It's been a strange few weeks for me. The updation, the sudden CEASING of updation, and more. This is gonna be a short one today, so lets get right to it.

#1. The reason I stopped updating again.

This is two-fold. First and foremost, I applied for a job (an art-related job) and I wanted to do my best on it. It took two full weeks of work wherein I COULD have updated Newscast, but because I wanted to do my best I decided to abstain. Could I have posted guest-comics? Yes. Should I have? Yes. Why didn't I? I'm freugal with them. I like to have them incase I suddely lose my arm in a swordfight.

By the way, I didn't get the job and apparently my life is a hollow lie.

Also, because I hand-made that summoning-circle for Cade and thanks to my crappy version of Photoshop, it was deleted after 4 hours of work and despite SEVERAL saves.

Since then, work issues such as my boss deciding that I can work alone on the busiest nights of the week, bigwigs coming in from corperate, and things of that nature as well as issues partaining to my _erm_ ex-boyfriend have been keeping me from my duties.

HOWEVER:

I'm back now. This update was provided by Robin Armstorng and the good folks at Protean Comics. Personally, I find them hilarious. And it's lucky that I do because I have many.

Now then, what about the future? Well, since I opted for an update AT ALL today, you should feel relieved. If I am updating _even with a guest comic_ that means that my mind is back on Newscast and the updations are soon to follow. To be honest, I just haven't had the time to really buckle-down. But I am making time.

ANYWAY, this has gone on much too long. Keep your eyes peeled here and at Taymation Studios because I am also working on some new projects and some old projects that you might find interesting.

P.S. Got Darkwing Duck season 1, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Movie, and The Shining the other day. All classic, all the time. That's how I roll.

Hey,

As I promised (if not a little late) another update. Hu-zzah and good merriment to all. Yeah, that was a little...erm... but as you can see, this one was a little more graphic-heavy and not so much on the dialouge. Believe it(!) or not, this is the streamlined version of what it was supposed to be originally. Thing is, I wanted to get it across the first time so if you see it again I don't have to do all the in-betweens, but I wanted to keep the pace up too. *sigh* if this were in print, it wouldn't matter cause you could just turn the page. Ah well.

To all those who might be wondering; yes, I did make Cade's summoning circle myself.

Good news for Wii-owners. Besides the fact that you have one cool gaming machine, the beta version of the Newscast page is up. I haven't posted an official link yet cause it's in beta still and the only real improvement is that it's a single column now so you don't have to scroll. I would like to take a moment, to extend a very special thanks to a certain fan of mine. He's sent me numerous fan works and because I was shunning the comic, I never got around to saying thank you. So here goes.

Robin, thank you for all the fan-strips. I have spent many hours reading and re-reading your comics and they remain funny. Heh, just like Fighter-Chick Cam's. They crack me up too....er, but I digress. Anyway, thank you very much. I look forward to my bout with Ebola so I can use them. :)

So I just finished Hotel Dusk on the Nintendo DS and I have to say...AWESOME! I hate to say this, but it's almost a shame to fall back onto Phoenix Wright: Justice For All after such a great gameplay experience. Well, I'm sure I'll be back into the good ol defense attorney as soon as I turn it back on. Ah Phoenix. I could NEVER stay mad at you.

Also: Wii Play. Meh.

Work on my bar goes well. I found out what was wrong with the camera so once I get a new cable, I'll be posting many many pics. I still owe you for Pyramid Head after all.

Gweetins folks,

I'm gonna be quick today cause I am a little out of practice at this. First off, new comic. Yay! It's not shaded because I started having problems with my tablet and if I pushed it back again who KNOWS when it would have been posted? So yeah, hopefully this marks the end of my haitus. Tell your friends, Newscast is back baby!

Coming soon: Newscast: Wii Version. I said I was gonna do this back when I found out the Wii would be able to surf the net. Well, normal NC works okay on the Wii, but I am gonna streamline it for you. Why? Cause I like the Wii and any excuse I have to integrate it into your life makes me happy.

Also, for comic number 100 I got some cool fan art and some guest comics that I have not used or posted yet. I am gonna be tweaking the picture archive and then posting those so keep your eyes open.

Lastly, I realize that that break from updates may have been annoying. I can't begin to tell you how much I missed updating the comic. Either way, I hope you keep reading because I will keep making comics.

Well, Newscast Live: Redux has come and gone. The book was a marginal success, as were the standees. Personally, I thought it was a lot of fun, even if most people were there looking only for Naruto fan art. Ah well. I'll be loading some pictures as soon as

A) I get my camera to talk to my computer. They've had something of a falling out... or
B) I get the pics from Stuart to use.

NEWSCAST FINALLY HIT 100 COMICS!

That's right, as of October 24, 2006 Newscast has officially run 100 comics on this site. It's amazing that I am finally here, and it means a lot to me that I have readers to share it with. The festivities will be taking place throughout the week, and vary on whatever I feel like posting that day. Watch for good stuff!

Well, I'll elaborate more later, but now I have to go take care of some menial stuff. *sigh*

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Newscast. I'm your on-the-spot reporter Ayame Maehara.

The AnimeBanzai countdown has officially begun. With less than a week left before the big event, I sit here desperately trying to get ready. I'm expecting things to go reasonably well, but so far progress has been somewhat slow. Ah well. It'll all work out.

Regarding today's comic:
It seems I am having a bit of a problem with...I dunno, some component of my internet access. My FTP client keeps timing out when I try to upload the comic, so if you can't see it yet, be patient. I'll try uploading it again in a little bit.

It's NINTENDO WII TIME!
So, after I found out that EB Games was going to be taking preorders on the Wii (finally), some friends and decided that it would be rational to spend 13 hours camped out on a cold sidewalk in October waiting for the store to open.

WHAT A BLAST!

Being someone who has waited in line for other things, I knew how to do things right. So I packed up coats, blankets, a TV, a DVD/VCR player, food and beverine, several movies, my GameCube and an industrial extension chord and soon, we were playing Super Smash Bros and watching The Venture Brothers. In short, a good time was had by all.

The best part? Well, two. first off, we met a delightful fellow in line who took a gander at a test-version of the comic. Now he's joined the forums and seems to enjoy the comic. That's another into our deadly fold! HA HA HA HA! And the other great thing is that I am now #1 in line for a Nintendo Wii system. Launch day, I WILL OWNZ YOU!

(I took pictures, but I can't find the chord for my camera, so I'll be posting them tommorow).

In latter news, there is none. I'll be doing something special to commemorate comic #100, but it won't be this week. The comic will be up, but the special thing might have to come a little later, lest the story drop another update day.

Hey all,

Not gonna say a lot today, I don't have the time. Suffice it to say, the comic is up and I am happy. Actually, the coloring ruined it, but ah well. I was gonna upload some photos, but the camera is being stupid, so I can't.

Um, sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've been so overwhelmed with Halloween, Newscast Live, work, getting ready for the Wii....it's been a neverending hastle. Hopefully, this will get me back on track.

Oh, and one other thing...

THE COLOR COPIES OF NEWSCAST (the book) HAVE BEEN CANCELLED!

They'll only be in Black and White (with color covers) cause they're too expensive to make otherwise. Sorry folks, not that I think anyone is heartbroken or anything...

Hey all,

Just a sec, I need to pause the new "Weird Al" CD; Straight Outa Lynwood so I can type. Go on, ask me if I don't wanna promote this thing. Al is awesome!

Okay, so we have a lot to cover. First off, sorry for the no-updateness period there. The book was a major ">*@%)*! to lay out, but it's pretty much tweaked now so I can get back to the business at hand. I would like to mention that I have run a few tests of the set, and it's AWESOME! It's nice to be able to read them in story form, without the hastle of browsing the archive.

Also, some people seem to be confused about the dialouge on the NCLR page, so I will clarify: The color-copies of the book are by pre-order only! Thing is, they're kinda expensive to make, so I can't have a bunch on hand that I can't sell. FEAR NOT! Thanks to some very helpful individuals, I might be able to lower the price on those colored ones soon. KEEP WATCHING!

The final format for the books has been decided. I think I posted it on the FORUMS, but I'm not entirely sure. *checks* Yeah, it's there. It's all good stuff, I promise!

It's funny, even though NCL is a small thing, it's always a highlight for me. I loved the first one and this one is gearing up to be even better! I hope to see as many of you there as possible!

As you can see, I used to spend LOTS on DVDs. That, fortunately, has subsided. At least until The Little Mermaid and Pirates of the Caribbean come out on DVD....

Yes, the comic is -once again- a little late. Sorry about that. The shading is just becoming overwhelming. Honestly, I had the whole thing done on time except for that. Ah well, it's up and that's what counts.

Not too much to say about this one here. All the big news is Newscast Live and all that jazz. I'm gearing up to finish the book and as soon as I run one off then I'll post up prices and whatnot. The page itself should be up in the next day or two. Hopefully soon.

I guess that's about it. I haven't been playing any new games and until Star Trek Legacy comes out, I'm running a little dry. Saving up for Halloween and whatnot. So I guess that's all the news that's fit to rake.

Hey all,

I'm gonna be brief but thourough today. New comic is up, sorry it's so late, but for some reason, I'm having trouble drawing of late. The layout changed like 5 times and the additional dialouge was a pain. Either way, Cade is back. Hope you like him.

The book is shaping up...sort of. I've had to settle on some things for it, cause I just don't have time to do all the great stuff I'd like to. Plus, it's already gonna be HELLA long. Look for the pre-order page coming in the next day or two.

Other NCLR stuff is going well. The Kioko desktop standee should be done by tommorow. I plan to have them for all the main characters so far.

IN OTHER NEWS:

In case you missed it, I finally revealed that 'secret project' for NCLR that I'd been doing. It's on my Deviant Art page, but I'm not gonna link it from here because until I figure out how to link to a new window, it's pointless. my page is at http://ayameexgoddess.deviantart.com. Hey all,

First off, let me apologize. Due to several blackouts in a row the other night, I was unable to finish the comic. I suppose it's also my fault, because well...I just can't pull myself away from Dead Rising. It's so frustrating, and yet so addicting. Making a review for it is gonna be quite difficult indeed.

As for this comic, not much to say. I hope everyone gets it...you know, tin-foil in the microwave and all that. I do like the way it turned out though. I was having one hell of a time with that first panel.

Work for Newscast Live: Redux continues. I'll be posting a page for it soon, much like the page for the first Newscast Live. So far, I've got a couple things lined up to sell. The book obviously, some desktop standees, shirts, posters and mini-posters. Enjoy that, cause I'm trying to keep prices more reasonable this time.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Well, you can color me the happiest girl alive. As of last Tuesday, Silent Hill finally came out on DVD. It was the first time I'd ever watched ALL the special features on a DVD, and I have to say that it gave me a new appreciation for the movie. Couple that with Dead Rising, the free copy of Day of the Dead that came with it, AND Silent Hill....well, I'm pretty much in Horror heaven.

Oh yeah, and that second-part to the NCLR announcement will be hitting right after the first of the month.

Lastly, I'm fighting to get my dad to bring home cables for the digital camera. Once I have them, I have many photos to share. Those'll be coming soon.

Hey all,

Well, I bet you're wondering why there hasn't been any new Newscast in awhile. Well, the reason is simple. When you get doing something so often, well, you occasionally hit a brick wall and can't work. Well that happened. But I'm past it. Rejoice!

I have some BIG news regarding Newscast Live this year, I mean BESIDES the book. But I can't reveal it yet. As soon as it's all finalized, then I will let you know. But this is pretty cool in my opinion.

Speaking of the book, preorders for the special Newscast Live Redux edition will be up on the site soon. As of right now, the book will contain all the Newscast comics up until the end of Chapter 2. Also contained therein are wonders and merriment only avaliable to people who buy the book. So make sure to order yours for all the extra Newscast fun!

IN OTHER NEWS:

Dead Rising on the XBox 360. It's a great game. Lots of fun...Well, it's got it's share of big problems too, for example, if you're not running an HD TV, then you can't read the text. Also, if you die, you start over. There are no continues or auto saves, so it takes awhile to adjust. Other than that, it's gold. Very enjoyable.

Also, my art area is being rennovated. I doubt this will have any impact on the comic, but it might. Just a forewarning.

Hey everyone.

Wow, it's been awhile since I went on a rant, but now that I have gotten Newscast back to a somewhat normal update schedule, I feel more able to doso. In this particular comic, you might be wondering about Nienna's hair in panel 3. Well no, she can't become invisible. It's just that she has BIG hair and that tends to obscure the important arm-releasing that is happening.

This comic was a PAIN. I started on it Tuesday evening, and I finished it Saturday at 2:00 A.M. coloring it was INSANE. I might start looking for an official colorer soon, cause I hate doing it.

IN OTHER NEWS:

The backyard pond/Pirate thing is almost done. Work has slowed to a crawl on it, because me and my fathers' schedules have become thouroughly unworkable. But it's mostly done. Pics coming soon.

A good friend and artist I know, Katie Azbill, is working hard to finish the cover of Newscast Chapter 2: Of Evil Pie and Magic Tricks. For those of you who have not yet seen the cover for Chapter 1: Bounty Hunter Showdown, you can see it without all the logo and text on her DeviantArt page. I really love her stuff, and am honored that she has agreed to let me use her work for the cover of the first Newscast comic book.

Work continues to suck. It COULD be a fun place, except that the powers that be have decided that fun of any sort will have no place in an entertainment store. I've put in some applications elsewhere. Hopefully soon will see some sort of career change.

The ESA has pretty much cancelled E3. For the past few years I have been at odds with the game industry, and this takes my anger and contempt to a new level. So I guess from now on it's Tokyo Game Show and PAX for me....maybe.

Something big is happening in October. What is it? More information will be coming soon.

Greetings people. It is I, your host with the most; Ayame. Not much to say today except sorry that the comic was a little late. Update night is bad for a close-open shift, but what can ya do? Well, the action is heating back up...how will our intrepid crew escape and save the day? Does the day even NEED saving? Check back to find out.

Also this week, new FAN ART is up in the section of the same name courtesy of Kevin Sanchez of Steve and Mac, not to mention a guest comic which will be going up...well, eventually. I'd love to use it right away, but the comic must go on and frankly, you'll never know when a good guest strip will come in handy.

In other webcomic news, Taymation Studios' Legend of Link has finally updated again. Taylor is a good friend of mine and when he updates, he deserves a little shout-out. If you like The Legend of Zelda, go check it out.

IN WEBSITE NEWS:

I'm in talks with another good friend of mine, Stuart Packrell about setting up my archive. Hopefully you'll soon be able to scan old NC pages via a comfortable book-type format.

IN OTHER NEWS:

New purchases: New Super Mario Bros. I love it. Admittedly it's not my favorite DS game, but it's a good solid platformer with classic style and some good old-fashioned fun, something the DS is known for. Also, Home Improvement Season 4. I know I'm like the only person who liked this show, but for a sitcom...well... Also, Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest. This movie OWNZ! Easily joining the ranks of such sequels as Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Boggy Creek 2. Also, I finally saw Superman Returns. It was a good movie, but I personally dislike Superman....a lot. It was worth the ticket price, but it's definately going on my Sin City list. (for those of you playing along at home, that's the list of 'movies-that-I'm-glad-I-saw-once-but-will-NEVER-watch-again).

Hey everyone,

Well I have to be quick, so just a couple of things. First, you may have noticed that NC doesn't update on Saturdays anymore. Well, because of the higher standards of the comic currently, it's just been impossible. I haven't changed the schedule because I really want to maintain two comics a week. Stay tuned to see if I can do it. Secondly, this comic is UNFINISHED. Why would I launch it? Well, I'm finally getting a good number of people to the comic, and I want to do SOMETHING this week since, no saturday usually...and well, since the only thing is the shading and detail lighting, I figured I'd let the story carry this one and fix it later. (Oh, and I'm going out of town unexpectedly, in case anyone is asking WHY I am doing all this in the first place). And lastly, I'm entering NC in a contest so I needed to get done with this one. Wish me luck, and I'll fix this all up later this week. Be well!

Heya,

Well, Newscast is at it again. It seems that fate has stepped in to say; "HEY! You're not updating on Saturdays anymore." and I'm all like; "But I wanna!" and then fate smacks me and the conversation is over. Seriously though, I'm trying. But work isn't making it easy.

Regarding today's comic: It's a simple little 3-paneler. Though it seems that the smaller it is, the longer it takes to shade. Ick. I'd stop, but the shading makes it look better and right now, it'd ber shaded regardless due to the special lighting. Kioko is so cute, and Nienna is now quite embarassed. It's like having your mom tell the other kids that you're 'too hip' for them.

Some of you may have noticed what I said in the SayBox. It's true and I will have something shortly. I just haven't come up with anything good yet. But I will. I'd be a little better about it except that, well, for whatever reason between the end and beginning of each month I start going through these really erratic mood swings. Dunno why, don't really care. Point is, it makes me doubt my artistic abilities and consequently makes it hard to draw apart from the comic. Of course, finding out how many hits most ComicGen people get per day didn't help any.

IN OTHER NEWS:
There, eh...really isn't much. I've been back on CoH in case anyone wants to see Kioko in action, and I finally got seasons 1 and 3 of Home Improvement on DVD. Tim Allen. Funny funny man...most of the time. Also, I've been playing Big Brain Academy on my DS and I've been able to get my score up to...well, I'm not going to share that particular bit of info. As I've already said, I'm not in the best mood and don't want people making fun of my tiny brain behind my back. YOU INSULT ME TO MY FACE!

P.S. Also picked up Batman The Animated Series on DVD. I'd been meaning to for awhile, and thanks to a late-night desire to rent a movie I finally got it. Great show, great show. It's like the month of DVD's here. Weird, I don't usually buy any. Seriously, I'll have to show off my DVD library here sometime. In fact, tommorow. I'll get the digital camera and post it. YAY!

Welcome readers!

Oh no! The other newsteams are all under PIE conrol! What will our intreped heroes (we hope) do? Obviously, Nienna's shoot first, shoot later, shoot some more and then when everybodys dead ask a question or two approach is right out....Ah well, humanity; get used to being controlled by a monacle wearing pie.

In serious news: You may have noticed filler on Saturday. What? You did? Good cause I'm not retyping all that. Suffice it to say, as of Thursday, the loading will be done and I will be back to baseline (I hope). I'm still only a 'temp' you see. I am 'auditioning' for the 'role' of working at this place. I swear my boss used to be an acting major...

Oh, and if you read this, and wonder why I don't update it all the time...well, fact is that if I get a comic up, I feel pretty self-satisfied and don't always want to rant about it. Also, sometimes I don't have a lot to say. Go figure. I'm boring!

FACT! Hooked my iPod up to my Xbox360 for the first time today. I was amazed at how well it worked, but I was pissed because of the lack of a 'Shuffle' setting.

Hey all,

Where to start? Well, first off, sorry about Saturday. Small bit of artists' block. Man, what I wouldn't give to be in a situation where if I didn't update because of something stupid like that I might not loose readers. Ah well.

First news: There's a new t-shirt avaliable in the STORE so if you've been looking for something new in the way of Newscast apparel, sink your teeth into the Bounty Hunter shirt! And yes, I know the store sucks, I would like to redesign it but in case anyone forgot, I suck at web design. If you know of something I could run besides CafePress, please let me know.

Secondly, something I forgot to mention last week. In addition to this site with the Computones, I have recently come into posession of a book: How to Draw Manga: Computones. This is a book of how-to with tones, AND a CD full of digital ones for manga. I mention this, because I am currently using the CD and it's a really good product.

Um...not much else I am afraid. I'll be adding the DOWNLOADS page sometime this week, I hope...unfortunately, I just haven't had much time to make stuff. But I have some things, so up it will go.

Hello folks,

Well, I'm finally back. I mean, I was back from E3 last week, but it's always hard to jump back into a schedule after a vacation, especially when you have videos to edit and swag to ship around the country. As for Newscast this week, I actually like it a lot more than I thought I would. It's been a pain in the butt to layout. But I'm glad to do it, because I think it's really helping me improve.

IN OTHER NEWS:

There isn't much really. Except a little tidbit about the possibility of another Newscast Live! event. At the moment, the details are sketchy, and I'm not even going into the possibility of stuff for sale (besides shirts) but I'll keep you updated.

Also, I think I fixed last Thursday's guest comic, check it out. If not, I'll be posting it in the 'Fan Art' section soon. Also, watch over the next few days for the Downloads section to open. In the meantime, head on over to the forums page and grab the 'Author' Nintendo Wii desktop background. You too can harness the power of Wii!

I'll make this one brief because I am too tired to type a lot...First off, sorry about Tuesday. Nienna is capable of some very interesting acrobatic feats which I was not wholly prepared to draw AND layout. Compromises were made, and in the end...I spend an extra week working on a page. I'm sorry, but quality is more important to me that making sure something crappy is up just because it's a Tuesday. However, it will be up Saturday. Yay.

On to more pressing matters, as you no doubt read up above, Newscast is seeking guest comics. Why? Well, first off, I do have a few from Fighter Chick Cam, but the thing is, I like seeing what other people can do (cause I don't get much fan art these days) and I think having someone who predominantly does all your guest comics might shy others off. Rest assured, Fighter Chick Cam's short Nienna story WILL be up next week, but I'm hoping if I get enough comics, I'll have a new one every day of the week. There will be at least three (FCC) so there will be a

NEW UPDATE SCHEDULE FOR E3 WEEK:
TUESDAY, THURSDAY, SATURDAY

And if I get any others, the schedule will change again. PLEASE send me some. I like to know there are fans out there. Also, you'll get something. I don't know what yet, maybe a desktop background, maybe some original artwork. Maybe something else entirely. I dunno, but I'm willing to bribe you for guest comics.

ALSO:
I'll be adding a new section to Newscast sometime shortly after my return from E3, something I realize I should have had for awhile....a DOWNLOADS page. Here you can DL icons, backgrounds, XBOX360 faceplate designs (for this loverly NYKO thing I bought yesterday), and maybe even cursors and avatars. I dunno for sure, we'll see.

AND LASTLY,
If you haven't joined the Gamers Guild on the FORUMS, you might want to. Because when Tay, Stuart and I return from E3, we'll be answering questions from boardy users and also loading some special videos (we hope) from the inside. This is a special message about something that is important to me; the Silent Hill movie. All questions will be answered at the bottom of this post.

I'm sure by now nearly everyone has heard or read a bad review for Silent Hill which was based on the Konami game for PS1 Silent Hill which was based on the breakfast cereal Demons From Hell Flakes. I would like to take this moment to say that while Silent Hill isn't the greatest movie ever made, fans of the game owe it to themselves to see it.

I've noticed that most people who 'reviewed' this movie have either never played the game, or if they had, they didn't like it. Well, I'm stepping in here because I LOVE the games, and have a slightly differerent point of view to offer the movie-going public.

Silent Hill isn't so much a movie where we watch the game, or where we watch characters we're supposed to already know going through events similar to those we've already experienced. The movie is more like a trip INTO Silent Hill. The artistry involved is spectacular, especially the scenes where the town transforms into Nightmare Mode.

Fans of the series will also note the almost bizarre mishmash of elements from the first three games. Essentially, the story is from the first game, the monsters are from the second, and the music is from the third. It's fun for anyone who's gone through each game to take note of all the small elements that have been put into this film, which tie it well to the game, but seperate it enough to make it interesting.

I will say this: if you haven't played the games, or have and don't like them this isn't a movie for you. Unless you know someone who HAS and can explain certain elements to you. In this way, yes Silent Hill fails as a movie. Here we have the opposite end of the movie-game spectrum, where a movie is made TOO similar to a game, and then pulled back to try and rope in people unfamiliar with the source material.

So I guess my point is that I, a fan of the games, DID enjoy Silent Hill and while I know it can be hard to resist what certain self-assured 'experts' in such fields may attest, I urge you, SH fans to go see it and make the call for yourself. I would HATE for this to turn into another Resident Evil, especially since we finally are reaching the point where a movie captures most of the same elements from a game.

Oh, and the movie is one of the reasons that there was no comic on Saturday. Unfortunately, it kinda blew my mind and I was in no fit state to make a comic.

Okay, so Q and A time.
Why am I posting this here? Because I have an opinion, and while the manga above might not have anything to do with video games, this is still my forum so I'll use it however I like. Also, as you may have noticed, I am a huge fan of video games and especially Silent Hill.

I feel that the movie got an unfair wrap and am using my space to assert MY opinion.

Greetings fellow Newscast enthusiasts, or I as I like to call you Newscastians (10 points if you got THAT joke). Today's comic represents a major step forward in Newscast (in my opinion) I shaded the whole thing, and found some kicky digital screentones for Photoshop http://psychobob.xepher.net/screentonez/. The combination of the two, as well as the ever increasing complexity of the backgrounds and streamlining of the characters are all coming together to make Newscast something I am a little more proud of, and I hope you will be too.

The pie has only officially been in politics for a matter of minutes and already he's mudslinging. Richard Nixon would be proud. Oh, and because I have a few readers who apparently don't live in the USA, I would like to note that 'Yellow Days' are the days when our....*sigh* current President thinks we should be on guard against Terrorists. Course, every day is a yellow day, so take from that what you will.

IN OTHER NEWS:

I did a little freewriting this weekend, and came out with part 1 of a story I call SHARPENED EDGE. It's a little universal expansion project for the RPG that Tay suggested. As I'm sure certain users of the boardy were hinting at, I don't have great control over the proper placement of semicolons, commas, formatting, etc. However, I think for something I was just playing around with, it turned out to be a good read. It IS a work-in-progress, so more is on the way, if you like it.

Also I finished Tomb Raider Legend on the 360 and even though I loved the game, I haven't felt so cheated out of an ending since Halo 2. But if Crystal Dynamics and Edios keep the liscence away from CORE, I'll be buying the next one too.

Hello all,

Well, like I said I had a guest comic today, special thanks to Tay from Legend of Link for this one. Also, Lauren posed for a panel....yeah, she wanted to make that known.

I feel much better now that I've had a break and Tuesday's comic should come without any problems.

IN OTHER NEWS:

The largest gathering of NC crew members will be taking place tommorow (today)....Saturday...you know what I mean. Anyway, that'll be happening and who knows what sort of craziness that could mean for upcoming comics and the site and stuff. So watch for new stuff!

Also, I've been playing Tomb Raider Legend on the 360. I bought it on a whim and I really really like it. The graphics are impressive, though I'm seeing things I hoped were behind us with this Next-Gen of gaming, such as flat plants in the environments and disappearing enemies. Perhaps when they start making games that they don't port back to the PS2....Ah well.

Also, Tetris DS has me addicted to the game again. The only problem with that one is the lack of the original Tetris music. You know, the dun dun dun dun do do do do do do dododododo....The music from the Nutcracker....that's what that was supposed to be. But mission mode is fun and it's a great spin on the game.

Great...now Tay and Lauren are making the Tetris music.....kinda.....*sigh* *reaches for a sharp, stabby impliment....*

Well, Newscast has updated again, and this time, VERY early. Cool eh? So we finally see the Evil Pie, MWAGUMPH and learn part of his plan. Is his plan truly evil? Can a pie even properly wear a Monocle? Only TIME will tell. For bonus points, guess who this story arc's special guest star is. I'll give you a hint, he's an actor.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Preperations are in the works for E3 this year, and I hope to convince Fighter Chick Cam to step up to the challenge of handing off some of her beautiful and hilarious Guest Comics, however, I'll take submissions from anyone, send in your FanStrips today!

Also, I would like to apologize to BookMaster, because I spelled Heroes wrong in the title for the webcomic The Hero's Handbook. I have fixed the error, and I hope you'll still take some time to give it a read.

Hey everyone. Just a quick note today, yesterdays' lack of updation was not a poorly-concieved April Fools' Joke. What happened is that, after finishing the comic once, I realized that the last panel wasn't big enough, and the top 5 were too small. So I cut it in half, but I had to redraw the thing. Sorry about that, but it's better this way, trust me.

In the meantime, Tuesday's should be fine because I pretty much know what it is, I just have to draw it again. It's big.

At the request of Moero, I've put up a TagBoard. I'm gonna test it out, see what happens. I've gotta be honest, I've never liked the idea of them, but I figure if those who use it prove to me they're mature enough to handle it, then so be it.

I finally hit #70, and I'll be honest, for awhile there, I didn't think I would make it. 50 was a milestone, but I don't think I ever thought about it reaching beyond that which is probably why it stopped for so long afterwords. When you consider that most active comics span well into 200 strips, Newscast is still very young and has a long time left to go. I've gotten into a nice groove for working on it, so it's not a chore like it used to be. I only wish I got paid to do it which brings me to:

I've been out looking for a second job. And if I get one, the time I am able to devote to NC is going to be drastically cut back. *sigh* tis the life of a poor poor temporarily-between-colleges student. Yo! Sorry about the lack of updation on Saturday, I was a little under the weather this weekend, and it prevented me from being at the computer, a TV, or anything with a screen, really. I finally put Kingdom Hearts back in my PS2 and realized that I'd thusfar only logged about 15 hours into it. But after I reaquainted myself with the controls, I fell quickly back into it, and even discovered some stuff I think I missed entirely on my first foray into it. Also, I finally pulled myself out of the dark ages and got my friggin XBox 360 online. So if you wanna play against me (I really only have Dead or Alive 4) my gamertag is, of course, AyameExGoddess.

Also, Ryo-Ohki finally is reborn! Her new form is quite a bit different than her old one. But it's a joyous occasion nonetheless. Perhaps some pictures will be here soon.

Well, Fighter Chick Cam is at it again. Because I had lots and lots going on this weekend, I wasn't able to get any farther along on the comic than the script. However, now that my computer is back to 97% functionality, and all guests from out-of-town are gone, as well as like a thousand other things are done, NC will resume updation on Saturday. Anyway, I would like to reiterate that I really do like Fighter Chick Cam's guest comics, and in fact, I do think this one is hilarious.

There really isn't any, except that I cannot find any track-ball mice ANYWHERE anymore. I will not be buying an optical mouse either unless I have no other choice.

EGAD! A crisis today that almost effected Newscast Saturday! So I was surfin the net this morning and all of a sudden, my computer goes ballistic! Everything locks up....I can't click on anything, close anything, or move anything. When I move the cursor, it's like I'm holding down the button.

I think -quite reasonably, I might add-;
"Virus"

So, my hatred for humanity rekindled, as well as all number of hypothesis going through my head as to where I might have gotten one (That email I got this morning? Kazaa left running? Star Trek fan encrypting them into the episodes I downloaded?) So I managed to activate my Virus Scan and left for work. Confident that when I returned, my Mcaffe would save me.

Oh how mistaken I was.

Long story short, after hours of panic, paranoia, and an excuse to watch Howls' Moving Castle, turns out my FUGGIN MOUSE WAS BROKEN! So I'll be picking up a new one tommorow and now Newscast can hopefully update Saturday.
Why am I posting this here? Just in case something else happens. The mouse I am currently using is only 1/10th as operative as my formerly-not broken one, so everything I do on this comp takes forever. Be forewarned.

ALSO:

I got most of the page updated. All the ComicGenesis logos are up and all the Keenspace stuff is gone. I'll be relocating stuff here shortly and adding some new buttons and pages. Keep on the lookout for them. Also, check out the new FAN ART on the page of the same name.

Like I said, I watched Howls' Moving Castle tonight and what a great movie it is. When it was in theaters, me and my friend Mina went to see it three nights in a row before they took it out. And I've been dying waiting for it to come out on DVD. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you doso. I liked Wallace and Grommit: The Curse of the Wererabbit, but Howls' Moving Castle is on another level of consiousness entirely. It should've won that Oscar....

Yes...a day late. However, a comic I like it is....I don't know where I was going with that. I was distracted...the glory of Futurama on TV...anywho this was a fun comic to draw. Greetings all.

Not too much to report here, but the new comic is up. I like it, especially the lighting effect in the cage. That was pioneered once already in this comic, but I liked it so I did it again.

The story marches onward, and Tuesdays' even has a touch of the funny.

In a slightly related story, I might stop updating on Taymation for awhile. I want to see if it boosts the readership here. And if so, by how much. Honestly, I like Taymation's format well enough, but it screws up all my comics and frankly, they're bad enough. They don't need assistance.

Not too much to report here. Still playing Super Princess Peach which rules. I also found out that the DS has a rumble pack, which I...er...acquired the other day. It's not a great thing, but it's a cool little widget. Plus, since my DS is the ultimate one, it was a nessescity for me to own.

I've also been playing EQII a lot lately. Well, not a lot....but i played once. I keep trying to get back to CoH, but damned if I have the time lately. *sigh* I miss my friends in Paragon City.

A little late, but not as late as it could be. Newscast #65 brings to the table a character whos' design I have always liked, but never really perfected. However, thanks to my tenure at Discover Financial, I finally settled on a design I liked. So, now we've met Cade. Who is he? What is he doing here? Is he friend or foe? All these questions will be answered, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, two new shirts are about to be offered on the Newscast website. Supplies are limited, because they were for a convention and they've just been sitting in a box for awhile. These are two of my favorite shirt designs, especially the Kioko one. So look for that coming in the next day or two. Also, some posters may be avaliable. These are all gonna be slightly discounted as well, because they sport the old KeenSpace URL, I mean, it's still good because newscast.keenspace.com will still take you to my comic, but discounts are always great!

IN OTHER NEWS:

So I watched Return of the Jedi last night, (the classic version) and it rekindled my love for Star Wars. I never EVER realized how much Episodes 1, 2, and 3 really killed it for me. I mean, 3 was ALRIGHT, but after seeing Vader as his true, badass self again...there's just no comparison. All the CGI in the world can't replace a damn good movie. And to think I almost watched Final Justice instead...

Also, Super Princess Peach is in my DS today. I'll have a full review up in the Gamers Guild section of the Taymation Forums. The guild is by invitation only, so you'll need to submit a request to join here.

Ah, finally the comic is up. Good news here, I have Monday off work so I'll have plenty of time to work on Tuesday's comic so yeah...lots of time on my hands and whatnot. I really like the way the comic ended up. Unfortunately, I ran into some problems when putting in the text. I was forced to waste space in some areas and cover up one of my favorite panels of all time with lots of dialouge. Ah well, it still looks cool and I guess those are the hazards of making a comic. Either way, I like it and stuff. More story progression and stuff. That's about all I have for now.

In other news:

Resident evil DS...KICKS SERIOUS ASS! I mean, it's not as good as the GameCube version, but man for a handheld...it makes me so happy to own it. Lots of fun, that. Also, I've been jamming on City of Heroes again which has been a lot of fun. Also, a friend of mine bought me Everquest 2 so I'll be trying that out soon enough. I am very tired now...nighty night.

The reason for this is that I'm still working morning shifts at my real job which cuts drastically into Newscast-working time. Welcome to the WORLD OF TOOOMMOOORRROOOWWW!!!

Ah, yeah. Anyway, Newscast is at it again. And by 'it' I mean updating. And by 'at' I mean becoming of and by 'is'...well, that depends on what the definition of 'is' is. Ah...so anyway, I feel pretty rejuivinated after taking Saturday off, so This weekends' comic shouldn't be a big problem. Look for it on time, and keep spreading the word about Newscast, everyone's favorite fictional TV news report.

Regarding the comic, I did get some positive feedback today. Completely out of the blue too. Which means I can take it as the first genuine (by which I mean there's no way I can twist it into a lie) comment I've recieved in person. I do occasionally get e-mails from fans, which makes me very happy too. If you're thinking of sending one, do it. I like them. They make me :D.

I'm sure some of you are wondering why I occasionally talk about video games here. Well, first off, since I've never been asked to appear at anything, I can't talk about that. Since I've only ever done one booth anywhere, I also can't talk about anything like that. Second, since I don't ask for money, there is no need to talk about that. Fifth, er...third... Since I work in Video Games, it's just something I know about and like to discuss.

Hey! What do you think about this Mad Cow Disease? It was here for awhile and then it went away, your thoughts?

Well, it's getting late and stuff. I've rambled on here long enough.

Hey everyone. Well, I'm sure you noticed that it's Saturday and Newscast is strangely absent once more. This week and next week, my new manager scheduled me for all morning shifts, which cuts drastically into my work time. If all goes according to plan, I'll have the comic up by Sunday morning. If not...I'm gonna postpone it until Tuesday and let myself have a breather for the weekend. Of course, this shouldn't effect NEXT Saturdays comic, and I am discussing the morning situation with my manager so perhaps this will be the last delay. Either way, the comic is gonna be a fairly good one. More story and whatnot. However, I have a special guest for you: Newscast's very own Kioko with a preview!

Whelp, the comic is up on time. Whoopy! I am kinda tired right now...so I'm not gonna post too much. This comic is a testimate to how much I'm enjoying updating lately. Thing is, this one didn't really come together until just a few hours before it had to go up, but hey, I pushed through it and made it work. It's not my favorite one of all time, but it's definately not the worst one either.

Well, lets just keep it rolling. There's not a lot else to note, except I am finally on Nintendo Wi-Fi with my DS -totally badass, I might add- and I like racing against people even though I am not that good yet. Well, here's another comic. I wish I could figure out how to make them update on time instead of a day late, but I guess I'll survive.

Not really in the mood to write much. I poured a lot of it into my other _personal_ blog.

But the comic turned out well, and I am happy about it because for MONTHS I have been waiting for this particular comic. Why? Because it means that the fight sequence is over and I can get onto more important things. Those things you'll be seeing on Saturday....well, some of them, not all of them.

Lets see...what else. Oh yeah! One of my favorite web comics The Legend of Link has finally updated again. The author, a friend of mine, had a stroke and has been unable to draw for months. He's finally gotten good enough to update again which makes me very happy. Please check it out (if you like Zelda then you should enjoy it).

In other news, I have once again found myself being a nice girl and having nothing to show for it. So I have re-entered ultra bitter mode, viciously attacking all who come to close. It's kinda fun because it ensures my solitude for a few days, enough time to recover. So yeah.

Oh yeah, one other thing. I have been playing City of Heroes again. If you ever find yourself on the "Protector" server, watch out for a familiar pink-haired gamoid. Feel free to give me a shout should you run into me.

Holy. Friggin. Crap.

This update nearly killed me. I was so stuck on it...re-writes re-writes re-writes. All the way up until 9:00 p.m. last night, I was retooling the thing. In all honesty, I am not really happy with it. However, it does fill in a small pothole that would have otherwise made some people scratch thier heads and say; huh? Also, it was a new sampling of layout which I kinda like, kinda don't. We'll see where it goes in the future. But I'll tell you, limiting myself as I do with making this can often present more of a challenge than I intend. I sometimes wonder if the comic would be better if I didn't. Of course, that's foolishness (and even if it would be, it's a HELLA lot more work. So far, only one comic has ever spanned more than one page, the OCAD one).

I opened up a personal blog. I can't imagine why anyone would want to visit it, but just in case, I'll provide you the URL.

Well, it's been a long haul but I'm finally back. Today's strip is a fan-comic for three reasons. The first is that since #55 was a day late, it ruined my whole weekend work schedule so I didn't have time to do #56. My new schedule at Rhino hasn't helped either, as my new boss has decided that I like to work at random times instead of on a somewhat consistant basis. The second reason is that Alyssa, the fan/friend who submitted this to me, did so some time ago. I had been saving it for when I was sick but thanks to my extended hiatus...well, I thought it was a good time to use it. The last reason is that seeing as it was just her birthday (also, a happy birthday wish to Fighter Chick Cam, maker of Ninja Stickman comics) it seemed as appropriate a time as any to bring it out.

In other Newscast related news, My Gallery Page is finally up (okay, i copped out and just opened a Deviant Art page) but still, it's all cool Newscast art. Also, thanks to Moero and Terd Burgler last night, I came up with some great new content for the site. Hopefully, it shall extend the Newscast Universe somewhat, and give you guys a little more insight into the comic at the same time.

Two more things:

#1. There is some exciting news for Kioko fans in the retail world. However, I can't tell you too many details yet. I'll keep you up-to-date though. Hint: It's good news for video game players.

In personal news:

I've been trying to find some time to finish Fatal Frame, yeah, I know I'm behind the times. But Frame 2 was just so bad, I didn't think the first could be good. Also, Phoenix Wright is still friggin fun on my brand-new candy pink Nintendo DS system. BTW, I want to race people in Mario Kart DS. If you want my friend code, shoot on over to the FORUMS and pick it up.

Also, I won an Xbox 360. I've been jammin on Dead or Alive 4 at work and just love it, so I'm excited to get one of my own. It's still kinda early on to BUY one in my opinion, but free systems I'll take anytime, no matter how reprehensible I find it. Not that I find the 360 reprehensible, but if someone say, gave me a PSP....Well, anyway, until Saturday y'all.

Well I updated again. Whoopie. What does this mean? Simply that I have not given up. I haven't quit. And I will update with all my resolve from now on. Lets just hope it lasts. In the meantime, it might interest you to know that I am relatively angry right now. Not just with how this came out in the end, but also because certain people are trying to thwart me. What are they getting at? Bugging me to update then trying to stop me when I do? Well, regardless of that, the gallery will be up by the end of the week. So there!

Well, I'll make this short. Thanks to Steve I finally got the Fan Art page operational so go check those out cause they're really cool. Also, you might have noticed that most of the archive images are now working (thanks -again- to Steve) so browsing should be a tad easier. As for updating, I really have no excuse other than I've gotten into some sort of rut...and I could hypothetically get out if I wasn't working full time. Because my job severely cuts into my drawing schedule. HOWEVER, I pretty much have #51 worked out and it'll be up shortly. I doubt I'll wait until Saturday to post it, so you might wanna keep checking back daily.

Hey everyone.

In case you're wondering why I haven't updated, it's because I haven't had the internet since early last week. I was able to get on in about 3 minute incraments since last Monday until Thursday when my service went out completely. Regardless, with connections that short, my FTP client wouldn't connect to the Keen server long enough to...well anyway, I couldn't load anything. I will try and update tommorow, but we'll have to see where this internet issue goes.

If I can, I'll go ahead and update and if my comp crashes again, then you'll have to wait. Sorry about all that.

Thanks largely to some unscheduled family trauma, I had to postpone the coloring of

Newscast #50: Milestone 1

until just a few hours ago. So it's going up on Tuesday instead. Which is fine, because that means that you readers will still get my gift. I want you all to know though, I might only offer it for ONE DAY. Which means it will be avaliable for download on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 ONLY!

Course, I am a little flexible (read: lazy) with things like that, so I might leave it up for an extra day or two...but don't chance it. I mean, it's nothing spectacular, but it IS Newscast, it IS free, and hey, it's a great thing. So give it a download and keep enjoying Newscast. Because I certainly enjoy bringing it to you.

Well, the worst Easter (relatively speaking) has come and gone leaving me a crippled and broken individual with dark circles under my eyes.

BUT...

I thought I'd go ahead and let you know that Newscast #49: Death of Innocence will update on schedule tonight at Midnight (or whenever autoKeen gets to it. I think it's actually closer to 3:00 a.m. thereabouts...) Regardless, I uploaded it and it's ready to go up. So give us a read tommorow for the shocking climax!

By the way, the Gallery will be up sometime soon. It's not a major priority at the moment, but I'll get to it when I can. Cause I know you want it baby.

Well everyone, Happy Easter.

NOTICE: I don't care what holiday you celebrate, or what you believe so if you're offended by me saying "Happy Easter" then go somewhere else cause I hate it when people are that soft-skinned. I mean, come on. It was an offering of goodwill that you turned into some sort of diabolical plan by me to insult your lineage. I think not. Maybe you should wear a sign that says "I don't believe in Easter" so the rest of us would know not to mention it to you.

But then, if you aren't offended by me saying "Happy Easter" then everything is cool. Stick around a bit won't we?

In other news, you may have noticed the new layout for the page. Isn't it loverly? Go to the Newscast forum or send me an email to tell me what you think. Cause I love to hear from people.

Speaking of updating, you may have noticed that I didn't this week. Well, I started my new job on Monday and I'd be lying if I said I was enjoying it. But regardless of that, I had no time to work on new comics all week. I have one, and I might update today, but because of the Keen crash yesterday, and the 14.7 hours I spent JUST trying to get the new layout up, (which still isn't working 100% properly) I think I am gonna take the holiday off. So please check back Tuesday for a new comic and (hopefully) working fanart.

Sorry I missed the update on Tuesday. I will never again say: "Newscast is back on schedule" because bad luck seems to follow that phrase. Anyway, I will be updating on Saturday so no worries there.

Also with the update will come a new page layout (finally) I got so many people who hated my page, and me by association, that I decided to finally do something about it. So it will soon be.

Well, despite the fact that today Newscast had one of it's highest 'unique hit' days in some time, I am feeling down. Why? Because by my estimation, for every 1/2 person who likes Newscast, there are 75,298,509.6388 people who hate it.

Thanks to message board poster Rev, who spent much time plugging the comic on random forums (God bless him) I actually went over the 100 mark. Of course, I don't expect the trend to last, but it was nice to see it for a day.

Well, despite the fact that Newscast apparently sucks worse than anything else on the internet, I guess I'll keep plugging away at it because I am kinda hopeless like that. Also because I am now only one comic away from #50. I should be on something like #98 by now, but I am a slacker, what can I say?

If you like Newscast, I urge you to let me know. Why? Because I am very insecure and need constant positive-reinforcement, otherwise, who knows what might happen? Well, anyway...Newscast #49 is coming Tuesday. Watch for it.

Oh, and one last thing...I'm thinking about adding a Gallery. What do you think?

Well, Newscast #48 is on the way. Actually, I have been quite ahead of myself this week for the first time in ages. I had the script done by Sunday, the revised script and drawings done on Wednesday and yesterday I finished the layout and started the actual drawing. Today, it'll be done and up and...and...yay!

While #48 isn't the greatest to date (I kinda say that about ALL my comics until I look back on them later) it does feature some of my favorite Newscast drawings of all time. Kioko's "Kitties" line being the best one. But you'll see what I mean.

Yesterday was the first ever Newscast Gathering, where the original crew members were invited to meet and discuss all things Newscast, which we did. Sadly, Moero, Sparky, and Lonewolfe couldn't attend. Moero goes to a college outside the valley and doesn't get Spring Break (which is why we met in the first place), Sparky lives in Phoenix, and Lone lives on another continent! Ah well. It was fun anyway, discussing future storylines, rereading old storylines and working on stuff for....

NEWSCAST LIVE!

Which I advise all fans to come to because we'll have some kick-butt stuff there. Plus me, possibly a few others and...well, it'll just be fun.

Lastly, I have procured another job. Unfortunately, I am now working for Discover Card which severely cuts into my self esteem. I am getting out of there as quickly as I can, because I really want to get back to video games. My first love. I will give Discover a chance though, but they're severely cutting into my comic making time and also they want to keep me from going to E3 this year. With all three new consoles playable this May, I'll quit before I miss it. I can always get another job.
